A Letter of Celebration on the Opening of Alumni Association’s
Website

On the occasion of the 50 th anniversary of Tsurumine High School,
Rhea Breeze, a student rock band in the Light Music Club, created a
song called “Cranes over the Ridges.” Its lyrics were written inspired
by our alma mater.

Rhea Breeze visited a college music studio to have the song
professionally recorded and mixed. A few weeks later, a demo
version arrived as a music file. I listened to it with anticipation —and
was amazed. These young artistic souls stirred a vivid sensation
and bubbling excitement within me:

A transparent and soaring vocal that touched the sky;
A driving solo guitar that narrated a story never told before:
Rustling yet gentle chords from the rhythm guitar;
A strong feminine rock beat of the drums;
A harmoniously progressing boom of the bass;
A chorus full of youthful spirit and strength.

The song’s afterglow stayed in my head for a while, then I
wondered, “Would it be even better if professional artists played it?”

No, it would not; it was the best in its current form.

A lively sound full of pure joy of creating music, raw energy in its
formative stage, and an uncertain but firm determination for the
future… Only Rhea Breeze, as high school students, could express
the overflowing power within them.

But we all used to have that power. We used to be unsure how to
use that power. That was the time when we were high school
students. At this point, everyone has one thing in common: We
belong to Tsurumine High School, whether as a student, a guardian,
or a staff member.

That power may now be hidden, but it still exists deep within us. It
might be pleasant to look within ourselves and feel its presence
once in a while. In doing so, we let our imagination travel back in

time and relive our days at Tsurumine.

Welcome home!

This is the place where time flows in its own course. It’s always
Fantastic Tsurumine.
